Gucci 1955 Horsebit Mini Piping

I bought the Gucci 1955 Horsebit Mini black at the end of March. I have worn it about 4 times and am SHOCKED that the piping has started crazy peeling. It is not even 2 months! The piping is pulling away from the seams. It is not the usual quality. I have contacted Gucci and waiting to hear from them.
Thanks for shifting the post mod. I've been a long time lurker. The Gucci Client Adviser who sold me the bag responded to me today. She said she will inform her managers and will get back to me. I sent photographs and my receipt. I also contacted the department store from which the purchase was made in the UK. I will give them time but I will seek a resolution quickly. I trust this is a one off issue and the bag I got is just faulty.

I have had the Gucci 1955 Horsebit shoulder bag in navy blue leather and bicolour velvet for a number of years without any issue whatsoever, so I am gobsmacked this 2 month old mini is peeling. I really love the design too. 😔😔

So, the Gucci client adviser got back to me and said they would accept the bag for repair. I bought the bag 2 mths ago in the UK and as I do not live in the UK, I told this was okay, but that all associated costs should be theirs. She reverted and said they would arrange for the bag to be collected but that I would be responsible for paying for the return of the bag to me. I asked her to go back to her manager and register that I this is unacceptable as I recieved a faulty bag. No way I should have this issue after buying a luxury bag 2 mths ago and worn in non-stressful situations 5 times for brief receptions and dinners.

She came back and said fine they will bear the cost to get a new bag to me as repairing it would take a while. All good for me.

As I travel to Miami frequently (I live in the Caribbean) I asked whether I could exchange the bag at the GUCCI store in Miami, instead of the DHL back and forth to UK. Her response was that they are doing me a good will gesture to accept return and exchange at cost from their store (UK) and so I should indicate whether I wish to go ahead.

I responded that I certainly wish to exchange the bag and they should proceed. However, I made it clear I did not require a good will gesture. What I needed was to not have received a faulty (not well made) Gucci bag and that all associated costs for the return/exchange, including any possible customs charges are borne by GUCCI. I am waiting to be informed when the pick up will happen. Fingers crossed.

Wow a good will gesture to give you an undamaged bag?! Ridiculous.

The issue is not the bag but jurisdiction and territories.

The Caribbean comes under the US division of Gucci and the UK was European but now may even be separate to that. It would be Gucci USA (a completely different company) that would be giving the bag, and they can't ship a bag out there from Europe or the UK. It would be legal complexities that may get in the way, not the SA, store or even Gucci.

I bought the bag in Harrods UK. Harrods does ship to the Caribbean - in fact - this service was offered to me for another bag that I wanted to buy that was not in store at the time I was purchasing the faulty bag now in question. I understand that the US company may not be able to exchange. However, Gucci/Harrods is not offereing me a "goodwill gesture" to exchange a faulty bag by shipping to the Caribbean as it is an offered service which I have used in the past.

I am still waiting for a further response on collection date have again messaged today.
