Hi

I was wondering what you think of green wedding bands? Would you get one or not?

Te reason I am asking is because I came across this company that actually takes a diamond grain and grows it in a lab. Now I have never heard of something like this before and apparently with them, A 2.5 Carat diamond is about $350 which is really cheap.

Have any of you ever thought of gettting one? What other "green" sollutions is out there?

Are you talking about lab grown colored diamonds?? If it was a reputable company for lab grown diamonds, there is no way a 2.5 ct plus diamond is that cheap even if it was a lab grown one.......plus, the only color that can be "grown" that large is canary diamonds as of late....they cannot even grow white diamonds that big.

Sounds like a scam.....

When I first read the title to your thread, i was thinking you were going to talk about jade!

If you are looking for eco-friendly wedding bands - what about an antique ring? I love the older diamond cuts, and you are reducing consumption by buying one!

Alternatively, the pearl industry gives back to the environment - what about a South Sea/Tahitian ring? I know futurefashionista.com uses recycled gold, and is GIA pearl expert - you might want to talk with Elena (she's a tPF member also).
