Does anyone have any pictures or insights on gray mop being used daily or very frequently? For the first time, I am noticing how limited the RG options are in the Alhambra collection. The GMOP/pave bracelet is so beautiful (I greatly prefer it to the hammered RG). I just worry about the GMOP for daily or frequent wear. I have WMOP Alhambra pieces and don’t wear them even close to everyday, so I wouldn’t know how they wear when worn more often. I also wipe them down with a microfiber cloth after each wear and never wear them if I think there’s even a slight chance of rain lol. I definitely wanted a new bracelet for a much more carefree pave set, but I keep finding that practicality and what my eyes are drawn to don’t always seem to be in synch! It’s an expensive piece and I worry one that may not be worth it in the long run if the GMOP motifs will dull and scratch very quickly. I’ve even heard GMOP is more fragile that WMOP which scares me more… Any info is greatly appreciated! What are your experiences with GMOP (especially on the wrist)?

Check this video, she addresses this:

There are a few different threads that have mentioned it too. The TLDR is “may show dullness/wear more quickly because it’s dark.”

Dullness and scratches will look more obvious on GMOP than WMOP, because of the darker shade which emphasizes the luster in its full glory, but when it turns dull it looks even more flat. How it wears on people vary by their body pH and lifestyle, as well as how one perceives 'dullness'. I have seen some really dull looking GMOP but the owner swears it looks 'just as new' just because she's not really seeing any visible scratches. YMMV.

If you feel like you have to baby your WMOP now, just expect to baby GMOP just as much if not more unless you don't mind replacing the stones every once every few years. I would go for pave if I were you, but get what you really love, not just for the practical reasons. The practicality factor will be insignificant if the piece just end up sitting in your jewelry box instead on your arm. Think of cost per wear and what brings you more joy. In addition to that, GMOP is priced much lower than pave, so even if you have to replace several GMOP motifs over the years ($200+ each), it'll still be cheaper than the pave piece.

Having this bracelet I can testimony that dullness appears before 1st year and I wear it max once a week. So maybe 10 times had it on my left wrist and I already see some dullness. I see it when I really look at it. You don't see anything if you don't stare at it carefully. But I imagine after 2 years of wear it could be in a dullness that you could easily see. I also bought a second hand 16 magic motif necklace (less exposed to water or transpiration as it is a necklace and not a bracelet) and it is dull on all the pieces of WMOP and GMOP. It does look more dull on GMOP than WMOP. But I still love it and wear it and won't replace the MOP stones. The onyx looks on the same necklace in a perfect condition as opposed to MOP.
I do love my GMOP paved bracelet and it doesn't bother me. But be aware that it won't be a piece that is indestructible 😙 (not like paved or hammered)

I second what @spaul said. I have had my gmop bracelet for about 6 months and there is an obvious dullness. I only wear it on some weekends and don’t stack. I make sure I don’t wear lotions, perfumes, or get it wet. However, it has still dulled. It is a pretty stone but I would not buy it again given the price. My WMOP is over four years old and looks brand new even today.

Hers look dirty to me… Is yours the same? You can clean it with a lightly damp microfiber cloth (and q tip) then dry it. The marks come off and it’s shiny again. This is what I do if dirty. It happened a couple of times and was all good after.
I didn't try the qtip but with microfiber cloth it didn't come off unluckily

If it’s not too much trouble, do you have a picture of your GMOP currently? I’m just curious to see how the stone looks after a decent amount of wear especially on the wrist. Is dullness the main concern or have yours gotten scratched visibly as well? The sad part is that I feel drawn to this bracelet since I tried it on, but have a hard time stomaching something so delicate for the price, kind of like @Cartier<3 said!

But, naturally, it looks gorgeous brand new in the store :(

Here are some pictures I took. It’s really hard to capture in photos but it’s somewhat obvious in person. I actually didn’t even realize because I wasn’t looking very closely but my partner was the one who pointed out that the motifs had lost their luster. I just try not too look closely anymore and still continue to enjoy the bracelet. However, I’d think twice about spending $15k for this again.

Did it become translucent? Or is it just that the GMOP shine looks similar to the pillow pattern?

Thank you so much for the insight and the photos! Is that a scratch on the end motif or just a reflection of the light?
