Hey everyone~

So, my fiance and I already have our diamond for my engagement ring, but we're trying to find just the right setting for it! Ideally I would like to get a set so I can have a matching band too, but it depends on the setting I suppose. My diamond is a 1.01 ct round solitaire. I'd like to have a platinum setting, and my ceiling as far as money for the setting/set would be 4k or less.

Any help, ladies? As far as style goes, I'm not TOO picky; but I'd prefer side stones instead of straight solitaire/three stone. Other than that, fair game! Pave set, channel set, heirloom style, modern, you name it! There's so many choices, I just can't decide.

Thanks in advance for replies! :D

^^great idea-wayyyyy too many ways for you to set your diamond to actually go into. I'm sure you'll find something you love. Good Luck and let us know what you decide.

^^^^ agreed!

Definitely go over and look at the engagement rings thread there are a TON of pictures there that will give a great idea about what you like and don't like...

but the best option is to just go to a jeweler and try them all on. what may look good on one person might not work for you.

How fun! Congratz on geting engaged and happy setting hunting.

It depends on your style. Go with something that you will love for a long time. Too many of us on this forum end up upgrading or wishing to upgrade (like myself). I did the traditional 1 carat center diamond with 2 baguettes on each side in platinum. If you prefer side stones research designers that specialize in this style. Good luck!

Why is it that all three of your posts on this forum point to buying from James Allen?

You mean the ad on the bottom of the forum?

I don't think it's based on the OP? I thought it generates through tpf. I do see James Allen a lot though. Right now this post has a Barneys ad for me.
