Gold Hardware-Gold plated?

Hi Ladies, wondering if
1) Regular gold hardware birkins or Kelly are Gold plated?

2) How about special orders gold hardware? Are those gold plated or gold hardware?

I think some insanely expensive custom H bags came with solid palladium hardwear, I think it was a Himalaya croc Birkin that also had the hardwear studded with diamonds.
