Travel GO to the GULF Coast Beaches!!!!

Yes, there is a problem, but I witnessed this weekend that the media may be overplaying the problem.....
Fort Walton Beach and Destin were BEAUTIFUL, crystal clear and not a tar ball in sight!
There were people on the beach, in the restaurants.
No, its not as crowded as it should be, but it was great!!!

Great thread and the coast needs our money. Galveston, too, as they are still devastated from the last hurricane!!!!


I have heard the sand at Destin is incredible!!!!

I have seen the Pacific Coast Beaches and the Atlantic Coast Beaches and neither even comes CLOSE to the white fluffy sands of the Alabama/Florida Panhandle beaches......I remember the first time I went to Daytona Beach - I was so excited.....and once I saw it, I was let down.......there is just no comparison.....

I have a friend that lives on Aranasas Bay - I think I spelled that right - isnt that real close to Galveston area/
