Hi,

I need your knowledge this topic.

I have a Speedy 25 Empriente purchased from yoogis closet last year. I got it on perfect condition.mi have not worn it since. Tags still attached.

Last night, I found that the 2 handles had glazing issues, glazing has melted in spots and were sticking to the dust bag.

if I brought this bag to LV, will they be willing to repair it as I was not the original purchase of the bag? Sensibly, it is still their product so their warranty should cover the problem, right?

Anybody who has experience or knowledge on how to go about this, kindly send me a reply. Much appreciated. Thanks

Mine was repaired in a few years ago but they looked up my purchase, then they started giving store credit to owners of the bags with defective glazing. I know someone who was given a store credit with no receipt and she said it was a gift from a previous employer.. but she was very lucky.
Too many people were buying pre owned bags and paying a cheap price with the melting glazing and taking into store and getting a brand new bag so they are cracking down on that now and it has to be a purchase they can verify on their system. It's worth a try, you can say it was a gift but they will ask the name and date of purchase, or tell them it was from a consignment store.
If the glazing hasn't completely melted over the handles they should be able to reglaze, but with no receipt they are likely to bill you for the repair. Mine was as it was sticky about 18 months after purhase in 2014, apparently on a recall list now (if mine wasn't repaired) but only applies to original owners. Good luck!

My never used speedy had the same glazing issues some time last year and I took it into LV. They were definitely NOT repairing at all (I tried asking for that), but I'm not sure if they need to see the original receipt for a credit note as I still had mine.

I do think that without the lv invoice it might be a bit harder, but try it and see what happens I guess. glazing issues are a big problem - I've had it on my hands and clothing and its very tough to wash off (it didn't completely get washed off).

From my experience, they dont ask for the receipt. I have some vintage which I brought over for repair (repair which I gladly paid for). They just take a look, its mostly based on quality, i guess. But then I know the SA And bought quite a few bags from him.

Here for a surprisingly awesome update

apr 24 I sent my SA the message about this situation. I didn’t hear from her so I thought nothing to be done, so I wrapped the bag handles with a pair of cute amazon purchased twillies. I thought that was that.

yesterday, my SA sends me a message to bring in the bag, and they will estimate how much it will cost to be repaired, and so I brought it in today.

my options
1. Repair that will take a year
2. Or be given a store credit for usd 2840 whc is the current price of this bag!

easy choice! I’m so impressed with LV! Way beyond my expectations.

I ended up deciding on a Capucines BB Galet ( a bag I thought would be out of reach at this time in my life)! Paid for the difference, at a steal
I am to pick up the new bag by this weekend.
My daughter says that is the way to create true brand loyalty.

I am so pleased with this turn of events.

just happy to share this with you.
