Does anyone have any advice on the best way to break in a new pair of H boots - I have had a pair in my closet for over a year and I have been to afraid to wear them outside.

Take them out and put them on! I don't think H boots need breaking in at all. Wear them a few times and then decide if you want to get thin rubber soles added for grip. Then buy some neutral polish cream to keep them looking good and improve water resistance. I was advised to get the John Lobb cream by the Faubourg shoe SA.

Thanks for all the great advice :smile1:

That's the best advice ever!

Put them on and march right over to an H store!! I just bought the jumping boots. First time I wore them I had them on for 3 hours. Next time, about 5 hours. They felt great after that. Good luck fashionscoop!

For anyone familiar with real horse riding tall boots: Do the jumping boots have those loops/hooks on the inside that you can use a "boot pull" on? I forgot to look the last time I was in an H store. Tried searching the net for photos of the interior shaft but have been unsuccessful. I have a bit of trouble getting the shaft all the way on when wearing jeans but have a feeling I would be better able to glide them on if there were hooks. Thoughts on maybe having my local guy adding boot pull hooks? Not sure how much confidence I have in him to do that. Wouldn't want to spend over 2k on a pair of boots only to have the cobbler mangle them...I don't think there's a way to add hooks without sewing and if he sew them on the thread would show on the exterior of the boot...Hmf. Hoping for some input. Thanks!

Alas, they do not have the loops. You might get the calf stretched instead.
