Hi all,
I am trying to decide whether to by a town or a Pandora. I love the look of both and they would both work well with my casual wardrobe.
I tried both and my initial impression was that the Pandora felt like higher quality and better workmanship but the town felt like it had more staying power for years to come.
I would love to hear your thoughts.:smile1:

Hi [emoji4] i would go for the bal, i like the pandora too, but i am afraid that it will look outdated in some time. I own 3 balenciagas and i am pretty pleased with the quality, the only thing to consider is that you have to keep the leather soft [emoji137]🏻 i hope it helps!

It depends on your tolerance for longevity. I don't feel like the pandora has the staying power that a balenciaga does in terms of looking dated. It's edgier now but not as classic/timeless later. The town is just an adaptation of the Bal first, so it's an instant classic. But if you're someone who only carries your bags for a few years and then changes/sells, you could go either way, so it would be: do I want edgy or classic... also not sure about the capacity of the pandora, but the town isn't super duper spacious, if that matters.

Pandora.

I have Bals: two cities, a velo, and a day - and sold a second velo.


I have medium Pandora - the durability and quality of Givenchy blows Bal away. I have looked at the Bal Town: as s.tighe said, it is quite small.


For urban public transit live, nothing beats Pandora. Five ways to carry (including backpack- with a simple loop of long strap thru the handle). Rugged zips, with easy access to small outside pockets. I had black goatskin medium Pandora, sold it, then regretted and bought again. haven't been back into my Bals since Pandora arrived.


Depending on capacity and function you most need, these bags compare only on price point. They're not substitutes for each other- instead they do very different things, both quite well.

I dig both, but vote the Pandora for ease of maintenance & deceptively large carrying capacity. While I don't base my choices on what others do, I see a lot of Bals and Bal-replica/inspired/fakes in my area, which may be influencing my view.

Hard decision, but I was going to say the same as PewPew: so many Balenciaga fakes and non-fakes around these days that I would personally go for something more original. But I get that not everyone wants to be influenced by what others are wearing ;)

Not sure if you've decided yet but I'd vote for the pandora. I have both and find myself reaching out for the pandora more because of how much it can hold and its a worry free bag. Ive worn it throughout my trip in Korea and it was very functional. The leather is also thicker than Bal bags so it feels sturdier. Plus, the zipper on the pandora is easier to zip/unzip. With the town, especially the broken in ones, the middle part tends to sag so you have to hold the zipper on both ends to open/close it smoothly. Just basing on my experience though.
But the best advice is to go with the one you love. Let us know what you chose and do post some mod shots! ☺
