Givenchy pandora or proenza ps1?

Hi,
I'm getting myself a new bag for my birthday and can't decide between a black ps1 large or a Givenchy pepe Pandora (maybe a medium or large).

I adore the look of the ps1 and have wanted it for over two years now. The only other nice handbag I own is a ps11. It's beautiful but there have been serious hardware issues with it (strap somehow unclips itself, often; and every step I take is accompanied by a noticeable squeaking). I carry it mostly as a clutch now. I worry about the overall quality of proenza bags and would be so sad if my second big handbag purchase ever turned out to have glaring issues too.But the ps1 is so beautiful and the design seems fairly timeless. The compartments are also appealing.

The givenchy pandora is really appealing too. It has a really lush leather and it is similarly slouchy and hangs close to the body. The hardware looks really strong and sturdy too. But I wonder about it's relative "timelessness" compared to the ps1. It also seems to have fewer quality control issues.

What do you think? What would be your vote??

I'm a fan of both bags, too! Currently, I have a medium PS1 and am hoping to get a medium Pandora by the end of this year. :greengrin:

I love my PS1, but if I had to just pick one, I'd probably go with the Pandora. The PS1 is definitely more casual, whereas the Pandora can be casual or slightly dressy when worn on the arm. I do love how organized the PS1 is, so if that is very important to you, it's definitely something to consider. When I use my PS1, I find myself wanting to carry more items because of how wonderfully compartmentalized everything is! XD

However, my PS1 has a slight squeak to it, too. :(

Since you have a Proenza already, I would try a new brand. The Pandora actually looks more timeless to me. I can imagine it transitioning well through the years. I always feel like I have to dress cooler when using the PS1 to match it, but I don't think I'd feel that way with a Pandora.

Oh my, the fact that your ps1 squeaks (I thought it was just the ps11, but I wouldn't be surprised!) is enough for me to go for the pandora after all.

I have both bags in medium size too.
I'd take the Pandora over the PS1 because the Panda is so tough and easy to use. I know the square, slouchy look of the Panda turns some people off initially but it's a great bag in use and to know it is to love it :D
I don't think it's going anywhere soon as far as fashion is concerned because it has a style all of its own. Perfect bag for travelling too.
As for the PS bags, I've just commented in the PS sub-forum that I've never had any problems with any of my much loved PS bags but I do believe that the Panda is tougher than the PS1.

It looks like you've already decided on the Pandora, but just in case you're having doubts - I say go for the Pandora. It's unique, has high quality, looks great dressed up or down... :smile1:

I prefer the sugar goatskin but the lamb on pandoras seems pretty durable, too. I am sure you will love it. A Pandora is really a do-everything everyday bag and the quality is much better than PS IMHO, anyway.
