GIA report for ering does not show "cut"

I got engaged in 2001. My dh picked out the ring by himself. I don't even know much about diamonds especially back then. Just recently I've been wanting to change the setting or maybe upgrade the stone, so I've been hanging around here looking at everyone erings, reading up on things to try to "educate" myself. Anyway, I went to look at my GIA report. I've haven't seen it in a while, so I wanted to know the specs bc I may upgrade one day. I now noticed that my GIA report does not list the cut of my diamond. Is this normal? My sister-in-law said her GIA report definitely lists it and so does her mom's, and she thinks maybe w/ older rings, they didn't list it. Is that true?

Mine does show the cut.

GIA only introduced the cut grading system in 2005, so the older certs will not have it.

Yea GIA isn't known for grading cut. AGS is. But newer GIA reports do show it.

in the meantime you can plug your numbers into the cut advisor tool on Pricescope and get a little info.
