Has anyone ever bought a GIA Certified Loose diamond on the internet? If so, can you specified which company and post your experience here? I have browsed on both the bluenile and the brilliance website. I am thinking about buying from www.brilliance.com but want to do my homework since this is my first time buying online. Please share your experience. TIA!!!!

My diamond and setting was purchased through www.goodoldgold.com

When buying online, make sure that you have someone you can speak to in person to evaluate the stone for you. Good Old Gold was a brick and mortar store and so it was wonderful to be able to speak to a live person if I had questions about the diamond's clarity or anything I would question. They also perform a lot of tests on their diamonds to ensure that they perform at optimal levels. Also, if you are outside of new york, there is no sales tax so it's an extra bonus. If they don't have what you are looking for in house they can always do a search for you and will work with you to find what you need. Wonderful company and they really spend the time to educate it's customers. They have videos all over Youtube.

Another vendor i've never used but hear good reviews about is www.briangavindiamonds.com

But another thing to take into consideration is what shape of stone you are looking at. Rounds are easier to buy online than some other shapes. If it is a round make sure you get idealscope images of the diamond.

And above all else, make sure they have a good return policy in case the diamond arrives and it isn't what you wanted.

My sister also got her cushion diamond from www.jamesallen.com and was very happy with them as well. All three listed vendors have a phone number you can call and ask about the diamond before purchasing.

I have purchased from several, I had great experiences with www.goodoldgold.com and would buy from them again in a second. I have also had HORRIBLE ones from Whiteflash and the former owners of Whiteflash who know own Brian Gavin Diamonds. The DIAMONDS were fine, the embarrassingly awful workmanship and atrocious customer service I received with them, along with the dishonesty, were my issues with them.

I bought a smaller diamond for a pendant from bluenile and was very happy with their customer service.
I will third goodoldgold. I haven't purchased from them yet, but have come close a few times. They are WONDERFUL to deal with.

GOG? Its in a Strip Mall next to a bread co and a really good pizza place. :) We went up there to finalize everything last year. It was SO fun to try stuff on!

Thank you ladies for your suggestions, I went to www.goodoldgold.com but they don't seem to have many selection. You think maybe their website is not always updated or they generally don't have a large selection?

They actually have a LOT of turnover in sales, they sell a lot of their stock before it hits their site in many cases. Call Jon or Sarah and tell them what you're wanting and they'll pull a listing of what is available in your specifications and get them brought in if they sound good to you and then run some tests for you.
