Getting a scratch out of hardware

I found a pochette metis empreinte noir, made in France and purchased in France! I want to buy it as a present for my mom. Because of COVID restrictions/her age I doubt she'll get to go to Paris to buy an LV like she she's always wanted So this is the next best thing!

The only thing I'm hesitant about is this rather large scratch on it. Anyone had any luck getting a big scratch out? If so, what did you use and how? TIA!

This is only my opinion and I don't personally own anything with that clasp but if the scratch is something that will really bother your mom, I wouldn't get the bag because if you try to buff it out with anything more than a jewelry cloth, you might risk damaging the gold plating. Jewelers cloths on the other hand are helpful for light scratches.
