Hi guys!

I am a diamond lover and have quite a number of pieces of jewellery, but I am totally ignorant about gemcare liquids! I usually wash them in dishwashing liquids! Haha...

Having happened to chance upon this in another thread, just wondering how many of you actually use gemcare liquid to clean your jewellery? Also since it's technically chemical-based, would it be harmful to the metal (gold / platinum) in the long run?

Great if you all can advise! Thanks!

I use dishwashing soap and plain old windex. I used to use the gemcare and sparkle stuff on my engagement ring & eternity band but found that windex works just as fab!! I've also tried vodka and that worked great!!

I use Gemcare. It's gentle, but very effective. I recommend it.

ETA: I just googled Sparkle, Sparkle per Ame. It looks like a good product. I may just give it a try.

Ironically, that's the only positive about my WF experiences....they turned me on to that!!! I ended up setting up a corporate account with NVenta a while back, I give a small set to every one of the brides I work with :)

Hrm... Thanks everyone for the tips as well as reassurance on these chemicals!

I'm going to try one of these as well! Haven't quite decided on GemCare or Sparkle Sparkle though!

Thanks once again! :D
