Hi everyone!

Got my first guilloche piece and I noticed that there’s a gap on all the sides of the clover under the light. I was under the impression that only the gem pieces had air gaps because they need breathing room. Does anyone else’s guilloche have small gap between the perlee border and the motifs?

Attached is a photo of what I’m seeing. It’s not visible straight on but if I hold it up to light or sunlight I can see gapping. Pls let me know, this is my first piece and idk if it’s normal or not! 🙏

It’s normal. The guilloche is a separate piece from the Perlee that surrounds it so it would be impossible to get it to be a closer cut without it being one piece. Also allows for thermal expansion.
