Wow. Luckily I haven't bought any diamonds recently LOL. In all seriousness, thank you for posting this! Amazing what lengths con artists will go to.
Seriously. They've been getting WAY more brazen lately. Treatments, trying to pass off fakes as real, etc. This is terrifying though. Because they were issued numbers.
What will they think of next?
I hope the GIA figures out what the treatment is! Maybe they know and don't want to disclose...anyway I'm glad I bought my expensive stuff years ago. UGH!
Thanks, AME!!!
I feel so blessed that I made all diamond purchases at least 5y ago, phew... Recently I have heard that GIA India and HK have been found to grade 2 or 3 color / clarity above the real one, and now Israel How come we know where the GIA cert is issued from? I guess GIA us is only one that 100% realiable now
Thanks for the info! Frightening to think how many may have been sold. What would you even do at that point? Try to recoup your losses through an insurance claim?
Thanks for the post. I'm thankful that I have not made any considerable diamond purchases within the past 8 yrs. It's very scary how brazen these con artists have become.
THANKS FOR POSTING, my wedding set was replaced last year after my original was stolen.... I just checked and mine doesn't seem to be involved, whew...
