It's funny you posted this, because I was cooking a sauce today using that exact mixture from the first video as a thickener, and the whole time I was like "This is SOOOOO cool! " It really has an amazing consistency.

I use to play with corn starch and water in the kitchen too when I was a kid...totally cool. Tapioca starch also works the same way.

I learned this in science class somewhere along the way.... I was pretty young...but we used to play w/ it all the time too.
