Hello all,

I am new to purse forum, so this is my first official post! I snooped around before creating account haha.

I need opinions because I am torn between the Hamilton and Selma.
I originally purchased the fuchsia hamilton with gold hardware from Macy's (it arrives tomorrow!) :woot: Now, I am considering exchanging it for the large fuchsia Selma with gold hardware. I am concerned about whether the selma will be big enough (I like big purses). Any insight would be great. They are both gorgeous bags and the hamilton seems a little more flashy compared to the selma. I like the fact that the selma has a longer strap for a cross body though. I you own either bag in fuchsia and have pictures that is helpful too. I'm sure which ever I decide not to get will be purchased at a later time in another color, but which should I get first?!

TL;DR: Hamilton or Selma?

Did you purchase the large n/s Hamilton tote or the e/w Hamilton satchel?

Since you like big purses, I would rank them in this order...

1) large n/s Hamilton tote - the biggest of the 3 and can hold a laptop or tablet or notebook; beautiful chunky hardware with the lock and chain; great alternative to a briefcase; wide shoulder strap is comfortable to wear

2) large Selma satchel - classic design; simple yet sophisticated; zipper top for more security; adjustable, detachable shoulder strap, but slightly on the narrow side so not very comfortable over extended periods of time

3) e/w Hamilton satchel - shorter than n/s Hamilton tote with open top, so not as secure for valuables; still has beautiful, chunky hardware and wide, comfortable shoulder strap

I love both but if you like big bags I would go with the hamilton. That lock and chain get me everytime. :love: I agree with the other reply though, wait until you get it and see how you feel. They are both beautiful bags. Let us know what you decide! :tup:

The Hamilton will definitely be bigger if you like bigger purses. Another angle to look at is how much do you like hardware? The Hamilton has a lot more hardware than the Selma. If you like a lot of bling, choose the Hamilton over Selma. Another thing worth noting is that the Hamilton is a tad more casual than the Selma, so if you're more into a casual look, you might like Hamilton better. Both bags are gorgeous so you won't go wrong with either!

I loved the hamilton when it arrived, but I decided to take it to the store just to compare them. I just loved the large selma in the fuchsia more than the hamilton, so I went with selma. I also liked the option of the crossbody and zipper with a expensive purse in a large city. More security. I like the hamilton more in the aquamarine color so that is my next purchase! Then I'll have both. :tup:

Good decision. I love the Hamilton in aquamarine. The silver hardware is just gorgeous with that color....[emoji3]
