From now on @ FSH. , do I need to purchase "non-Birkin things" before asking for a Birkin.


Good afternoon everyone , I'm from Thailand.
I had read some topics for Birkin-newbie but I still wonder.



Sorry for bored question. I don't know much about H.


I'll have a trip to Paris in late October 2010 , and I have a free day (Thursday , Friday and Monday morning) , so I have plan to purchase a 40 cm. Birkin Bag in dark colour that suit me (I'm guy).

My Status :

- Just 2 times as a purchaser @ FSH with Belt ,Bracelet ... last April 2010

Last time after I pay for my Belt and H. Acc. , I started asked for a Birkin

the answer is : Sorry there are no 40 cm. in Stock now , only others size ,you can use Lindy-45 and I adviced you to come by June then order.

(I didn't understand that why I can order ? May be I misunderstand her word. Coz I'm tourist and not VIP. , no relationship with any SA.)

My Questions are :

If I go to FSH. in the morning waiting for operate time around 10.30 am. , do you advice me to buy anything first then ask for a Birkin or straight direct to the Bag section asking for a Birkin.

If you advice me to buy , should I pay for them first at cashier , finished TAX. refund form then ask for a Birkin ?

or tell SA. I want to buy them(non-Birkin things) and ask for a Birkin before arrange my payment.

Hope there are not to many people in October who's need 40 cm. B.

Hi! I think everyone's experience at H is different so here is my personal advice: if you know that you want a Birkin 40 then go straight upstairs to the bag area at FSH, try to catch the eye of a friendly looking SA, and ask directly. In my experience there is no point in wandering about the other counters if what you want is a birkin. Remember that they don't necessarily have birkins everyday though! If you're unlucky you can enquire with the same SA about an order, I have usually found them to be quite friendly.

Thank you LittleH , If I didn't got 1 on the last day then I order with SA. in person , do they ship to my country ,Thailand ?

The price as the same price as Thai H. right ?
Very expensive ;) in FSH. Birkin 40 around 6450 Euro.
In Thailand the price is nearly double price from FSH. for the same item T_T

I have 3 day to compet , wish me the best of luck...

hi DT, you just have to try your luck at opening, mid day and late afternoon. i understand that the delivery of bags come in twice a day, mid morning and mid afternoon. also, you may wish to try different SA if one turns you down (provided that you do it discreetly)

birkin 40s are not in great demand compared to 30/35s. as long as you are NOT too picky about color/leather choice, you stand a good chance.

with regards to ordering, i think the SA is referring to placing POs. you may wish to do a search on PO as this has been shared by many tpfers who place POs at FSH to have them delivered a few months later. i believe you can have it shipped to your home country provided that you pay either via AMEX or wire transfer money in advance. Upside of this is that 10% VAT is automatically deducted for overseas shipment.

buy some thing samll, then pretend buy big thing like lindy etc, and when they ask you anything else. ask for birkin, before check out tell them you just need the small item and birkin

I totally agree with hanyeu...........except getting the bags shipped to Thailand........ The duty will make the bag costs nearly the same price as H BKK............ If you are lucky to be able to place a PO, I would suggest you fly to Paris to pick the bag up yourself will save you a lot on duty you need to pay for the bag to be shipped to you......... just my two cents.............:smile1:

I just bought a H wallet from a seller (Nancy, from Kaleidoplace.com) from USA, and she has been kind enough to declare the item at USD200.00, however when FedEx delivered the package, I needed to pay USD 90.00 on duty............ You can do your own math, if you get the Birkin 40 shipped from Paris, how much duty you need to pay.......;)

I got VISA. until next year. , In that case I will long for 40 CM. Black Fjord GHW. (to die for ^^)
