Where I live, and work, most people who get their nails done get French manicures. I thought it was the norm, but I was reading this article about how French is out. So, French manicures: yay or nay?

I'll post my own opinion later.

I think a French manicure on short, natural nails is a clean, simple look and I like it. I don't care for French manicures on long, thick artificial nails.

I think there's something beautiful and classy about a French manicure when done by hand. However, over where I live there's something called "pink and white" manicure/acrylic and imo it's ugly and you can tell it wasn't painted on. I often get French and awhile ago, when I wasn't as into nail polish, only got French. Now, I like to experiment and mix up. However, and this will probably sound stupid, I don't like "reinvented" French manicures. Like dark color/nonwhite on the tips. I also don't like this look, I think it's called new French manicure, where they like do the top and the tips white. It seems ugly. So, I like French manicures, but also enjoy colored nails.
