Hello all,
I am in the process of pre-shopping for my wedding band. I have a pear cut solitaire set in a white gold band. i decided that i want a rose gold band. initially, i thought i might be interested in a wider pave band, but after seeing some french cut diamonds in the ering threads here, i thought i might want to see about having my wedding band set with those.

my question in, all of my research has revealed french cuts that are antique, and set in white gold or platinum. is a french cut diamond something that a jeweler can still get, or are they solely antique at this point?

TIA for your help, im really lost here!

I think Leon Mege and maybe a few other jewelers set them in new pieces.
I believe the cut is quite uncommon....you'd probably have to go antique or with a jeweler that is working closely with cutters.....
Good luck with the project.

Not all jewelers have good access to them so you need to find someone that regularly accesses them. Single Stone absolutely can get them, and for a ring like that they might be my top choice, but I know also that Steven Kirsch can get them, Victor Canera can get them, Leon Mege can get them and IIRC Jewels by Erica Grace can as well, so contact all of them for an idea.

This project will not be inexpensive so if you're not budgeting a significant amount, you might want to reconsider.

thank you all for you input! i greatly appreciate it.

AME, can you give me a ballpark of what ill be looking at, cost wise? or would it be better to contact the jewelers directly?

Steven Kirsch and Leon Mege are in NYC, and you can see/buy Single Stone items at I believe Greenwich Jewelers.

oh, that's great! I saw SK and Leon Mege are in NYC, and I was really interested in Single Stone, so it's great that I can see their work at Greenwich.

Thank you :)
