Hi, my sister gave me a black leather Francois Marot Paris bag that she had in her closet for years. She thinks she bought it in the 80s or 90s. I have researched online and don’t find many bags with this brand name. I also don’t find any articles or online descriptions of the company or of the brand. Do any of you have information about this brand, how upscale it was, and what it might be worth today?
Evidently they are no longer made, but when they were, they were fine leather bags handmade in France. Ironically, those I found online were being sold for as little as $20 and as much as $400. Do any of you know anything about these bags? I’m attaching several photos. (There’s a photo of a suede tag sewn into a seam inside the bag that is very hard to photograph. It has the company’s name and address and says “handmade in France.”)
