I'm with you on that. I can't imagine how we will be able select a scent not knowing how ourInteresting, thank you for sharing the article. I have Dior J'Adore L'Or, an older flanker, which is a rich floral with jasmine, and some vanilla in the base. I will have to check out his new L'Or de J'Adore (kind of wish they had come up with a different name). I like that he was inspired by Christian Dior's love of flowers, and the flower fields, to design a floral fragrance, and not go the gourmand route (interesting that he feels gourmands are already outdated).
As for the new technology, and chip, I am not sure I fully understand how that works and not sure what to make of it. More information is needed about how this technology works before being able to weigh on it. That said, there is something intensely personal and enjoyable about having a tray of beautiful perfume bottles and selecting and applying a favorite scent of the day. So I think I will say no thank you to the apps and memberships if they are offered in the future, and stick to perfuming myself the traditional way.
Yes, the entire "virtual" scent selection process seems unclear. It sounds very cutting edge/futuristic/ hi-tech, but not sure how it will actually turn out from a practical standpoint. In any case, I cannot imagine not owning and using perfume from the beautiful bottles.I'm with you on that. I can't imagine how we will be able select a scent not knowing how our
body chemistry will react.
I have purchased fragrances over the years never using them strictly because the "bottle" was
unique.
There used to be a gentleman here in NYC that was known as the "perfume man" with bottles
of fragrances from yesteryear that were very beautiful..
