OK ladies and gents, I just received a red rouge from an outlet “ found” order for 70% off - I have wanted this color rouge for a long time and really love it but she arrived unwrapped and saggy and floppy in the front - why is she so loose and saggy and will she go back to normal? Do all rogues end up saggy? She is clean and unmarked except for the sag!

The bag sags like that because of the weight of the handle, the hardware and the hang tags. I have seen a lot Rogues (in photos) with the edge sagging over......which is why I don't like those handles. They are in the way folded inside or on top of the bag and drags the lip of the bag over if allowed to hang out. The leather on your bag has already been 'broken down' and there's not much hope for it with the handles on the outside. But if you keep the handles tucked inside it might not sag like that.

You have a few weeks.
Stuff the center pocket with stiff tissue paper. Then get thin cardboard and put a rectangular piece in each of the outside pockets.
Remove the shoulder straps. Place the handles folded down on top.
And then lay your bag flat with sagging side down. Then flip in a week.
Leave it for a couple of weeks and see if you can train the leather.

I tried all of that and more with a previously owned Rogue. I had the bag lying on a thin board and put another thin board in the pocket. I then put a large heavy weight inside the zippered section. I left it for three weeks and it didn't really help. Once I stood it up, it looked better for a few minutes ( just long enough to get my hopes up.) then it started to slowly sag again from the weight of the handles. :wtf: Unfortunately, once that leather has broken down like that, I don't think there's really much (if any) hope in getting it "stiffened" back up.....especially with all that weight dragging it down when the bag is in use. (Someone needs to invent starch for leather!) Some people like the sagging, so maybe she can still be happy with it.

After reading all these tips I am going to try to see if I can love her - reminds me of another type of sagging that once it happens there is no going back -
They really leave these bags in bad positions crumpled up somewhere
I know, they aren't very careful with them. Mine had an indentation in the front from the strap they shoved into the front pocket and the strap was twisted as was the clochette's leather piece. I just conditioned them, stuffed the bag really well and shaped how I wanted and then put a cloth and heavy books on the strap and clochette piece to flatten out. I put some weight on the bag too and all looks better. I agree, love it the way it is. At 70% off it's hard not to!
