A friend of mine was traveling with her family to Nashville and stayed in an Airbnb. They found a handful of jewelry of significant value and I thought I would post here to see if it belongs to anyone on the forum. The owner of the Airbnb stated that no one has contacted him looking for it.

Please send me a DM and identify which pieces you are missing.

Wow. What a nice thing to do Lori. I hope the jewelry is reunited with the owner. I wonder why the Airbnb owner doesn’t make contact with the previous renter.

As kind a gesture as posting here is, it's still a totally random shout out to locate these individuals, given that this isn't a travel site, most people on TPF don't visit the jewelry forum, and this isn a site for special interest in that destination.

To me it seems it would be a lot more productive to notify the local police department. Has someone done that?

I don't know, I'm doing this solely as a favor to a friend and she has left the destination. The Airbnb owner told her to leave the jewelry.

The Airbnb owner just said that no one reported it missing. I'm not sure what will happen to it after this point. I guess it's entirely possible that the Airbnb owner will become the new owner of a LOT of nice jewelry ...

This does make me think someone should contact the police dept. What if the couple discovers their jewelry loss, tries to claim it, and the Airbnb has already claimed it? Seems to me it would be good to have a track record of the loss officially recorded close to the time of the loss.

Further, I wonder who would by law be the proper new owner--possibly your friends who found it? If there's a bunch of $$ involved, they might want to know this.
