I was very excited when the Cognac East\West Duffle showed up on FOS this past Wednesday so I pounced on it. In addition, I've always wanted a Cobalt Duffle kit so I got that and it helped me avoid the shipping fee.

The Duffle arrived today and it looked great in the beginning..........

Then I noticed a spot on the strap that I figured I could minimize with a little leather conditioner........BUT then I turned the bag over to look at the bottom and noticed corner wear on ALL 4 corners.............

Notice anything wrong? Exactly! It's not COBALT but CARNELIAN and, to add insult to injury, the lozenge hangtag is missing. Of course I double checked to be sure I ordered the correct color.

Needless to say a pre-paid shipping label was e-mailed for both items to be returned.

But there is good news! I love my shoes from the sale. I ordered 2 pair when the sale first began a couple of weeks ago then my co-worker had a PCE that didn't expire until today so I used it to order 2 additional pair this past Wednesday when they added more shoes and lowered the prices.

Even my Yorkie, Suki, approves!

They offered to send replacements for both but I've been buying from FOS and eBay a lot lately so I decided to just return both. They've done the same thing before with the duffle kit and I didn't want to take a 3rd chance on it.

Unfortunately, this is common on the east - west duffles. Since these duffles have kind of sharp points on the corners, they wear easier than a lot of other legacy bags. I am very easy on my bags and after only taking the e/w cognac out for short periods of time on a couple of days, one front and one back corner were starting to 'whiten'.

I still say that Coach does not actually dye the legacy leather, but just kind of paints it on, because it wears off wayyyyy to easy. :p

Thanks for the info on the east\west corners because that would have made me crazy. It's best for me that I didn't have them send another one. If the corners are going to wear, at least they could have let ME wear them out and not send me one that's obviously used......:laugh:

Aww sorry to hear about the duffle. :( I received mine today and just checked it out and everything looks good. Good to know about the corners getting extra worn - I'll try throwing on some extra conditioner and apple guarde before I use. I do love it! The duffle kit - wrong color??!?! How disappointing. I'm glad all your shoes worked out! Cute! :smile1:

I forgot to do that with my cognac one before using, but did with my deep port one and it has faired better. :smile1:

Love your shoes especially the blue drivers! Coach shoes are so different from what I see on most of the ladies at work. I'm trying to get a decent collection, and the sales over sales really help, plus they do wear out so you always need more :yes: Congratulations on yours!

Suki is so cute, but she looks like she only has eyes for you!
