Have you ever found a BV so special, so rare, that you feel like you've won the handbag lottery? I think these finds deserve their own thread. A place for us to share our lottery prizes!

I'll start off with my find. It happened last weekend. I was up too late Friday night, casually scrolling on TRR, when I saw her. I told myself a few days earlier, "No more handbag purchases until later this year." I was sipping margaritas on ban island.

But how often does one stumble across a super rare BV on a resale site? She was green (favorite color), she was croc (not yet in my BV collection), she was a Stretch Knot (hmmm....don't have that one either).

SHE WAS LIMITED EDITION 1/1. :wtf:

But I'm on ban island, so I click the  icon, and go to bed.

Then Sunday morning, I see @Euclase's post about this Stretch Knot on the BV Finds thread. I reply, mentioning I have my eye on it. Then @indiaink gave me the encouragement I needed, by telling me to do it - it's a once in a lifetime thing. And she was absolutely right!

So, my gorgeous, one of a kind, green croc Stretch Knot arrived tonight, and I'm in love. I easily consider this the most special bag in my collection. Oh, and those initials on the plate? It was already personalized, but my initials happen to be "AG" also. She was meant to make her way to me, and I named her Fortuna.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading my novel of a post. Here she is. :flowers:

How absolutely marvelous!
Fortuna is a beauty and what an addition.
I’m going to back in the thread history and see if your Knot was chatted about in one of the special orders the BVettea placed.
@grietje thank you! I'm curious if I can learn more about its history. I will probably take it to the BV boutique here in Dallas and see if they can tell me more, like it's official color, year, etc. No matter what, I'm just so excited to have this Knot!

It’s such a great find! And somehow seems like more than coincidence…this Knot was meant to come to you someday.
Thank you! I agree this was meant to be. I could not see the personalization clearly on the TRR website, but I bought it anyway. I saved the photo, zoomed in, and thought the initials may be "AC" or "AG". It was confirmed once I received it yesterday. It was like this Knot was made for me, before I even knew I wanted it.

Holy Knot! How farking incredible is this? A piece that will be handed down in your family for generations to come. I cannot believe how this all came about! Yay for our BVette family! Congratulations, my dear, it’s beautiful and timeless.

This bag with the engraving and the color are a bit chilling but certainly meant to be. She’s a beauty.
Enjoy!

What a treasure you found. There is no way you couldn't buy this and the fact that it has your initials engraved is truly uncanny and serendipitous.

And this is probably going to sound extremely ignorant, but I had no idea there were bags so limited that there was only 1 ever made. A true one of a kind treasure for you! Congratulations of this special purchase.

So I don't want this thread to just be about my own lucky BV find - I absolutely love stories of lucky finds!

You know - did you find your BV bag at an estate sale for an absolute steal?

Maybe you finally found the one that got away?

Or maybe you're the one who bought what is believed to be a special order mini Peltro Cabat previously owned by Maryvonne Pinault? (Okay, I'm just dying to know who you are!)

Anyway, please share your stories and photos of your lucky treasures! :flowers:

Fantastic idea for a thread!
Fortuna is absolutely stunning  The green in croc is just beautiful, and its SO COOL it has your initials! Meant to be:heart:

Like you i am trying to sunbathe on Ban Island, but when these TM BV treasures appear, it can be a one in a lifetime chance to own them. Sometimes another will appear, but we can’t count on that. So if its a bag that speaks to you, its well worth an escape from BI. And this one most certainly was worth it — congrats on another beautiful addition to your collection :drinks:

I’ve had a few lucky finds. These 3 bags i think the top the list. I might add a separate entry for a couple of lucky Knots too.

1. I’ve already documented this amazing find — an Ebano Crocodile Cabat, in basically new unused condition, and listed at the same price as regular leather Cabats.

2. Brand new with tags still on it, ostrich Veneta. I have not carried her yet b/c…well, she is such a time capsule, i do not want to remove the tags

3. Ardoise Vendome Bag F/W 2013-2014. I lusted after this bag for years until one finally popped up on FP. She arrived with undisclosed holes on the top frame. But i kept her b/c….what if i never find another?

What beautiful, amazing finds!

I'm still in awe over your croc Cabat. When you consider its rarity and its likely retail price back in the day, not only were you lucky to find it, but it was an absolute bargain! I think it's easily in the top 3 of luckiest finds here!
