Does anyone have a Forevermark diamond? My boyfriend and I are starting the search for an engagement ring. We are looking for an ideal cut diamond so our jeweler suggested Forevermark. We are going to look at one tomorrow. I was hoping someone with some expertise (besides the guy who is trying to sell us one) could chime in. Are they really worth the 35% premium?

I don't think they're worth the premium, they're a branded round brilliant cut. You can get an ideal cut diamond from a number of sources, including several online vendors.

What are your criteria?

Ok, thanks. That is what I was thinking. We have done our research and have some strict requirements as far as cut, symmetry, depth, table, etc. With that being said, we haven't seen any of these diamonds in real life yet. We are just going off what we have read. We are going to look tomorrow. I am expecting to learn a lot!!!

See what you think tomorrow, we can absolutely help you find the same or better without the markup.

Good cheatsheet:

What an awesome tool! Thanks! I started this whole process very excited and at this point, I am just downright confused. Thank goodness my boyfriend understands more than I do. My budget for the center stone is around $10k, so I want the absolute best diamond I can get at that price. From what we can tell, we should be able to find a 1.25 carat ideal cut round in that price range.

Thanks again for the link!
