Well I don’t know where the trends will go, and frankly I don’t care, but the bags in my collection that I can’t imagine letting go are Birkins, Kelly’s and Chanel reissues.
Most likely I will hang on to M Reg Alexa, M Antony, Longchamp LP Cuir Crossbody, LP Cuir Medium, M Flight tote. Also LC LP Custom numbers aren't going anywhere.
Other bags I might consider selling at some point.
- Fendi - variety of baguette sizes and styles, they keep coming back and are always classy and amazing quality
- classic shapes with a bit of a twist - YSL did so many beautiful ones to stay - I have Muse II in few textures and colors
- classic school bag PS1 will always be around
All the bags I buy now I plan to keep forever but what others might consider forever bags are LV Speedy, Neverfull, Pochette, and Alma, Saint Laurent Sac Du Jour and Shopping tote, Chanel classic flap and reissue, and Lady Dior.
I have a vintage Chanel that I consider a forever bag. Also a vintage Coach that I would consider “a forever” as well. Others may show up in my life before I’m done.
I have a vintage Gucci that is a forever bag. I have yet to find another exactly like it online. I think for a bag to become a forever bag for me, it has to be a bag that I would truly regret selling. I've sold my Speedy and Neverfull partly because I feel that if I ever want them back in my collection, I can easily find another.
Love my Birkin 35 but it's huge and heavy which is the only reason I would ever sell it. However, a bag I would never sell is my Hermes Raisin Dalvy (see my avatar) simply because it makes my heart sing and I don't think I'll ever find it again if I let it go!
