I took some of these pictures from a French magazine and some from chanel.com.

On this very first classic flap, you can see the strap is made of reissue chain and jersey cloth. This is exactly how it's done in original 1955 bag.

A lady I met at a party saw the original 1955 bag at Chanel exhibition two years ago in NY. She also told me the old lock looks a bit different with the current MM lock.

The first flap is croco but it's new version. This is the version I saw in the stores. It has different strap.
