?? for the chanel experts - is it bad for the bag to cross the chain like this when wearing crossbody?

so im 5 7 and at normal length it sits a little below my hip, which im not a huge fan of but its not the end of the world. But I realized if I overlap the chain like the picture, it sits exactly at the perfect crossbody length. My ? is , is this going to damage the bag at all long term ?

that looks like it can create friction on the chains and may cause chipping over the long term. Do a google search, there are people who who have hacks to shorten the chains on the mini by using ribbon underneath the flap. But i'm not sure if that will work

yeah unfortunately because of the 4 grommets , when I put the ribbon it shortens the bag way to much I cant even git it crossbody

I think I know what you're saying. What if you shortened it a little on the inside on each side as needed, as opposed to pulling it together through the middle?

Only downside of wearing it like that is it will rub the chain finish and fade/chip the chain.

I won’t do it for fear of chipping the hardware and I’d be so sad if I chip that gorgeous So Black hardware! Maybe shorten on each side using ribbon underneath the flap? Although the annoying thing about that is that you won’t be able to easily switch from crossbody to shoulder while you are and about (if that’s important to you), not to mention the the two “loops” inside the bag that might get in the way.

I carried my mini reissue like that before letting it go. I had no issues whatsoever, but I did not carry it like this all of the time and I also had shiny gold hardware.

I’m also someone who does not faint at the site of imperfections. If something is comfortable to me, then that is how the bag will be used. The bag has to be comfortable and convenient for me. So if the strap drop bothers me, then the bag goes.
