Hi everyone

I am considering buying a pair of YSL plain nude pumps (specifically, the anja pumps in patent leather). Due to where I live, I would have to order online, so am curious to hear peoples thoughts on whether they run big/small/true to size? I also have rather wide feet and given the style there won't be much wriggle room, so that's also something to consider.

I have the Zoe pumps in patent which are similar and lean towards wide feet. I'd say go for 1/2 size up

Agree with @mariliz11 , I'd also say go 1/2 size up.
I have narrow feet and sometimes I still need to go 1/2 a size up, especially if they are patent leather. Patent leather holds shape and structure the most and therefore is probably the stiffest of all treated leathers. You'll get less stretch out of it compared to something like smooth leather or suede.

What did you end up going with? I have the Opyum pump in the higher heel in 38, and I had to size down two half sizes all the way to 37 for the 85mm nude Anja pump.

I got a pair of the anja pumps in a 39.5 (I am normally a 39). They fit well but are pretty uncomfortable so I only wear them when i'm going to be sitting down most of the night.

I wonder if it's true that different brands/shoes fit people's feet differently? Because I've tried Jimmy Choos and Manolos that people rave about for comfort and found them much less comfortable than heels by Saint Laurent. Are your Anja pumps the higher heel or the 85mm?

Yes @anastasiya26 . Jimmy Choos and Manolos are generally more comfortable than YSL and Louboutins.

I own mostly Jimmy Choos and YSL shoes. I have noticed that Jimmy Choos tend to choose slightly more flexible leathers and have a wider toe box than YSL heels.
YSL shoes are also a little more narrow, and the outsole of YSL heels, (especially strappy heels) are notorious for being quite small and do not have much surface area/space for the feet.
My most comfortable YSL pumps are probably ones that are fully closed (no toes to be seen). Any kind of strappy heel, I stay away from. The only exception may be the tributes, the straps are wider and more comfortable and the platform makes it more comfortable and easier to walk in. I've sold my tributes because they're no longer my style.
As for the higher YSL pumps, I feel that there is something about the shape of the insole and pitch that makes them more uncomfortable over long periods of time. Can't really put my finger on it. May be the material they use or the angle it's set at.

Was wondering if anyone has the Opyum scrappy heels in the 8.5cm heel and if they are comfortable?

I don't know what version of that Opium heel looks like but I did have the classic opium patent pumps in the highest heel height, and they ended up not working out for me.
There's something about the angle of the pitch and the insole combined with the stilletto's shape (which is not a point but a thin bar) that makes it very uncomfortable to walk in. I actually had to change the way I walked in order to accommodate for the different stilletto shape.

I believe that the 8.5cm is the lower heel height though, so it may be more doable.

It seems to differ a lot depending on the model. I have a pair of Saint Laurent boots and a pair of flat sandals both sized 39 which fits perfectly. I wanted to buy thee Tribute heels with platform in the front and tried a 39 on. I could hardly get it on my foot. No staff around so I couldn't ask for a larger one at that point, but I'll be back to try maybe a 40 or even a 41.
