Hi everyone! My significant other is buying me my first VCA piece for a milestone birthday. I am interested in getting a Vintage Alhambra pendant and am trying to decide between yellow gold diamond pavé, yellow gold guilloché or yellow gold mother of pearl. I am hoping for this to be a necklace I can wear every day but also want it to be special to mark the occasion. Thank you in advance for any thoughts you all may have on how to make the decision / what you would choose!

How exciting! I love pieces that commemorate major celebrations. For me personally, I would prioritize them in the following order - Pave over solid gold over stone piece! So, VA pave pendant would get my vote. It is low maintenance, can be dressed up or down and is appropriate for every day wear imo.
Pave because:
1. Diamonds are durable and no scratching concerns, unlike guilloche.
2. Can get wet. Little to no maintenance. Can wear 24/7.

100%!! Pave!! Probably my most worn and carefree pendant! 😍
The good news is you can’t go wrong w/any of the choices. I would think about lifestyle. Are you more low key? Then go w/MOP or guilloche. Do you love sparkle and tend to dress up? Then diamonds. Personally, I want all three! But you have to start somewhere and I would probably get MOP first bc the stones are what the brand is famous for and it’s diff to other offerings on the market. Plus the glow!
I also would say that it may not be your only piece you will buy … slippery slope !
As it is a milestone piece I would go for the pave. It is as others say so carefree and you can dress it up or down it is so versatile. Can wear it 24/7. The MOP is really more to take care for (no water no perfume …) so not a 24/7 piece. Guilloche is indeed a giving -smile piece so would keep it on your path for next occasion 😌. Have fun trying. You should be able to try in a boutique the pave and MOP and with luck the guilloche (they can provide other pieces like bracelet or earrings if pendant not available)

Great points and i agree I would definitely choose the pave piece. In fact, the pave white gold was my first piece.

Excellent choice. I personally feel that my Vintage Alhambra Diamond pave pendant is the only Alhambra pendant I’ll ever need. It’s timeless and elegant, it looks great no matter what it’s worn with, it will last a lifetime because thanks to diamonds being the hardest stones it can be worn all the time without wear & tear, it’s easy to clean because gold and diamonds are fine getting wet, and after investing in the diamond pendant I don’t feel any temptation to buy/collect non-diamond pendants (so it has saved me money by choosing the diamond piece as my first pendant). Agree with PPs - a pave pendant is so carefree. Unless you had another pave/diamond pendant I’d go for that one first
