I'm making my first trip to Paris. We've traveled to 28 other countries, but it's our first time in France - so I want to add a French bag to my collection. I'm thinking about either an Hermes Jige Elan Clutch in malachite (if I got lucky enough to find one) or a Lady Dior (large) in blush:

I have a Celine tote that I carry to/from work everyday. For a first trip to France, I'm leaning toward a "fun" bag - but also one that is different from anything else in my collection. I have a small LV that I've had for over a decade that still looks brand new and a black Chanel WOC. I have a Prada Galleria in a burgundy color that is the closest to the Lady Dior that I own (I carry it has a top-handle / not a crossbody).

If anyone has been to Paris recently (when stores have been operating under Covid protocols) and has advice on dealing with that - or suggestions on a fun bag I'm just not thinking of, please send them my way! Thank you!

As of today, December 14, you must wear a mask indoors. Outdoor wear is optional, but my estimate is about 50% of the population is always masked. Many shops set limits for number of customers allowed inside at any one time. There is always hand sanitizer at the entrance, with a strong suggestion to use it.
Another brand for high-quality, French-made handbags is Verbreuil.
Enjoy your trip!

I bought a Goyard tote during my last trip. Every store may have a different protocol so I would try to call them. I did not experience the retail shops requiring any special protocols except to wear a mask indoors.

I recommend going to Le Bon Marche and walking the handbag department - you'll see a large representation of almost all of the big luxury brands with their mini-boutiques and also some French brands that you may not be familiar with.
