So this week, I am off to my first trip to a coach outlet. Since it's a long weekend in Canada we have planned a family trip and will probably be going to Pittsburgh to meet friends.

I researched some threads on this wonderful forum and on coach outlet website to figure out there will be around 3 outlets on the way there:yahoo:

Could any one of you kindly tell me which one would be my best bet in terms of variety and availability on the weekend.

a) Niagara Falls - Canadian side
b) Buffalo outlet
c) Grove City Outlet - Pittsburgh

Also, is there a considerable price difference between the Canadian versus American outlet (keeping taxes, exchange rate in mind)?

Any suggestions/recommendations for bags would also be greatly appreciated as I am a newbie and haven't yet figured out all the names.

TIA!

PS: I hope I am within forum guidelines in posting this thread with these questions. If not, please let me know.

Hi, Welcome to the forum. I'm new as well so I probably can't help much but I just wanted to say that I just started looking at Coach purses a few months ago and love them! I've only been to 1 outlet in Seattle (I'm from BC) and it was a lot of fun. I didn't buy anything at that time because I had my kids with me (they did NOT have fun there as I made them stand in a corner because it was extremely busy! It was also 4 in the afternoon. I can maybe suggest trying to get there early and try to look without kids! The Canadian dollar isn't doing too badly and you can bring back some goods without the duty tax.

I have the Ergo tote and a couple of Soho totes. I love the Madison Sabrina, Parker and the Legacy. From this Forum, it seems like the Zoe's and Sabrina's are quite popular. Sorry, not much help, but HAPPY SHOPPING!

Maybe try calling those outlets? I don't know.

I live about 10 minutes from one outlet and 30 minutes from another. One is known more for the great leather selection and the other is more known for the great signature collection. I prefer leather so spend most of my time in that outlet. The SAs at both outlets will tell you the same thing if you asked (at my two) about which store is better for what. So I am thinking you can call and get info like that from those outlets.

Welcome! The buffalo outlet usually has great stuff but the prices are usually the same as Niagara Falls but our side in in CDN dollars making it a better bargain to find stuff at the Canadian Outlet. I haven't been to the Niagara Falls outlet in a while but they have great stuff too. The last time I was in grove city, the coach outlet was a little small but I think that state has lower taxes. So that's some info that I hope will help you in your decision. Happy shopping!

i just recently moved from pittsburgh to houston. i went to the grove city outlet numerous times and while it is small, they usually have some harder find things. the SA's are all really nice and will almost always look around in the back if you ask for something specific. on the weekends, it is very crowded because of it's small size but it kind of comes in waves. when they first open there is a rush then it slows down a little then another rush. it's definitely worth it, i was about 50 minutes away and there was another outlet only 30 minutes away(just south of pittsburgh in washington pa) but i would always go to the grove city one if i had time. washington is in the new tanger outlets off I-79, it is much bigger, right across from the meadows racetrack and casino. hope that helps! have fun!

also, grove city is right off of I79(can see it from the highway) so it will most likely be real easy for you to stop at since 79 is the usual way to go from buffalo to pittsburgh. its a large outlet so there will most likely be traffic but there's lots of parking. the coach outlet is around the back.

And make sure you print out the 20% off coupon before you go!!! It's available on this forum for you to print...just go to the Coach shopping subforum and it should be easy to find!

DO NOT go to the Niagara Falls one on a Saturday or Sunday if you are strapped for time. I was there 2 weeks ago and on Saturday there was a 30-40 minute lineup, first thing Sunday morning, about a 20 minute lineup. Then when you get inside, another 20 - 40 minute lineup to pay depending on how bad it is. Not a good outlet to go to with kids along, or an impatient hubby. I had no kids and my DH was a doll because my primary reason for going was the Coach outlet.

Again - unless you have at least 2 hours to kill, don't even think about the Niagara Falls Canada one on a weekend. I hear it's better during the week.

But the up side is, it's a big beautiful store with TONS of merchandise!! It's the only outlet I've ever been to, so I can't compare it with other Coach outlets, but insofar as outlets in general are concerned, I thought it was fantastic.

Hope that helps a bit. My understanding is that the US outlets aren't as insane.

I go to the Prime Outlets in Niagara Falls (US Side), I'm live about 20 minutes away and was there last weekend or so. They have lots of signature, leather and cute accessories. Some shoes not really much though.

Carlys, carly satchels, the new turnlock totes (not sure the name), Zoes, Optic Gallery tote?, I'd say check it out. I like it there.

Have you been to the one on the Canadian side? I'm just curious how they compare, and if it's worth me crossing the border next time I'm there to check it out. Thanks for the info.

I'm pretty sure it's nowhere near as busy, but I wonder why - does the Canadian one have more stuff - is it bigger? If not, I wonder why it is so much busier - at least on the weekends.

Thank you so much guys. I just wanted to get some idea what to look fwd to before the first trip. We don't have any kids on the trip and I am going with my parents. My mom would enjoy - not so sure about my dad :P

@playette1222: I am not going to Niagara Falls specially for the outlet - it just happens to be on the way. But good to know about another outlet that's close to Pittsburgh.

@shoptostaysane: Thanks for replying and I will check out those bags you mentioned online.

@paula3boys: You are lucky to be living that close to outlets - I have had to plan for this big day!

@mpepe32: Thanks. I really hope I can find something I like within my "coach budget"

@coachsj: Thak you so much for all that info on Grove City. As you said it's on the way so I will be sure to stop by. It's also good to know that you had nice shopping experiences there. Looking forward to it!

@double*domer: Thanks for letting me know about the coupon. Woohoo, that just makes it more exciting. I assume it's okay to print the coupon multiple times in case I decide to shop from 2 different locations?

@crissy11: Thanks for the heads up about Niagara falls. I will try and leave before dawn (haha..j/k). If we can make it there early in the day we shall stop over or else I will check out the ones on the other side of the border.

@IHeartCoach: I am not looking for shoes. Just interested in handbags at the moment. Good to know they have lots and that you like it there.

Thanks again for replying guys! I really appreciate it. I CANNOT wait for the weekend!!
