Hi, my first trip to Paris and I would love to purchase my first Chanel bag there. I have been patiently waiting for a black mini with ghw in lambskin or caviar leather for some time. Alas to no avail as yet, I am now waiting for the March release and crossing my fingers (again) please does anyone have any advice on Chanel shopping in Paris, which boutique is the largest? Or the most iconic to visit.. I would like to get something there maybe earrings as I don't think the minis will be available. I am there for a few days mid Feb and don't want to drag my husband round too many stores.. he is very understanding thank goodness but we have a ton of places to see. Tia lovelies xx

I had a horrible experience at Rue Cambon. Long wait and barely any selection, and the SA was not friendly. but I think you’re more likely to score a classic there. I loved Ave Montaigne two boutiques across from each other. Lots of selection. Just my experience from Paris visit twice in one year 2016.

I was just in Paris few days ago and got my dream bag. The SA who helped me was very very nice and friendly. There were a few SA that passed by with no expression, but honestly, just be yourself, ask for what you want to see, and take your time.

I went to the new store @ Rue Cambon (apparently there’s a new and old store). The collection is amazing, and I was surprised there was no queue outside the store as I’ve heard many stories about lining up for more than half an hour. Just FYI it was a Thursday around 10-11pm.

Any question just give me a shout, I’ll be happy to answer.

Ive been to pretty much all the Chanel stores over the times Ive visited Paris (I go 2-3 times a year). Galleries Lafayette and Printemps almost always has a line of customers waiting. There are hardly ever anyone waiting at Rue Cambon (Coco Chanels original store, and as far as I know, the only place in the world where you get a white Chanel paper bag to carry your purchase as opposed to the normal black one). Ive also never experienced waiting at Avenue Montaigne (both Rue Cambon and Avenue Montaigne have multiple stores located right next to, or just across from, each other). Also, Avenue Montaigne is such a beautiful street with amazing shop windows, so you should go there just to see it (and visit the Chanel store :P)
Avenue Montaigne is located right next to Champs Elysee and Rue Cambon is located right next to the Place de la Concorde and Place Vendome, so either way you will be able to combine visiting the store with some sightseeing. (And all of these spots are within maybe 1,5km.-2km. of each other)

I have only experienced nice SAs at all the Paris shops, and sometimes they are willing to check if other stores has the item you are looking for to save you some time going to all the shops. HTH :flowers:

Thank you so much [emoji847]this is really helpful especially as you were there so recently. My husband speaks good ish French so I am hoping that will warm up a SA, I can only order wine and croissants in mine [emoji23] we are there mid week so hopefully not too busy... my dream is a black rectangle mini with GHW, I could only find black with SHW in Nov in U.K., think my timing will be off for the mini release and I don't know if black GHW is even available (I would be happy with caviar of lambskin) we shall see!! Looking forward to the whole Paris experience X

Thank you so much, this is wonderfully helpful. Planning plenty of walking and sight seeing so I am hoping to plan a route to take in a few boutiques along the way. My dream would be the black rectangle mini with GHW ... but alas I think I have more chance of a Parisian unicorn [emoji23] that is a super tip to ask if they could check the other stores while I all there, thank you [emoji847].. tempted a with a SCF too in black caviar with GHW. I have done a bit of research about the taxes, from my understanding I don't think there are any benefits if I am traveling from the uk X

Im not an expert on taxes as I live in Denmark, so inside the european union, but I hope you’ll get what you’re looking for, even though I agree it might be difficult to get a classic “outside season”. But you never know  hope you’ll have a great trip, Paris is the best city in the world
