First pair of Coach shoes ... and I actually don't mean me.
Daughter is twelve now (she was seven when I first joined tpf), but has always been extremely petite for her age. In shoes, she still wears size 2 or 3 in childrens, and believe me, it's not easy finding shoes that are small enough for her feet, yet old enough style-wise --- Disney princesses are long-gone. Her biggest shoes, up until now, have been a current pair of Uggs in childrens size 4 -- which stay on properly simply because they go over the foot and up the leg. (As a sidenote, one of her best friends is three years older, almost two feet taller, and wears a size womens 11. Yes, 11. That is not a typo. They consider themselves honorary sisters, and you should just see them together. :giggles
So on Friday we finally got a chance, before her school vacation is over, to hit the nearest Coach outlet. Shoes were on clearance at 50/40 .... and she actually found a pair that **fit** her.
Coach's "Callie ballet flats." They're size 5.5, and suffice to say she has plenty of room. The elastic inherent in ballet flats does help to hold them onto her feet, but by the time that elastic stretches out she should have grown a little more. She actually does walk completely normally in these.
So, little girl finally has her first pair of "officially adult" shoes.
And at only $45 for real leather, why not? A nice pair at Payless, once I'd weeded out the ones that were too sparkly, too princessy, or just plastered with a giant bow, would have run about $25 anyway.
