First pair of Coach shoes ... and I actually don't mean me.

Daughter is twelve now (she was seven when I first joined tpf), but has always been extremely petite for her age. In shoes, she still wears size 2 or 3 in childrens, and believe me, it's not easy finding shoes that are small enough for her feet, yet old enough style-wise --- Disney princesses are long-gone. Her biggest shoes, up until now, have been a current pair of Uggs in childrens size 4 -- which stay on properly simply because they go over the foot and up the leg. (As a sidenote, one of her best friends is three years older, almost two feet taller, and wears a size womens 11. Yes, 11. That is not a typo. They consider themselves honorary sisters, and you should just see them together. :giggles:)

So on Friday we finally got a chance, before her school vacation is over, to hit the nearest Coach outlet. Shoes were on clearance at 50/40 .... and she actually found a pair that **fit** her. :faint: Coach's "Callie ballet flats." They're size 5.5, and suffice to say she has plenty of room. The elastic inherent in ballet flats does help to hold them onto her feet, but by the time that elastic stretches out she should have grown a little more. She actually does walk completely normally in these.

So, little girl finally has her first pair of "officially adult" shoes. :D And at only $45 for real leather, why not? A nice pair at Payless, once I'd weeded out the ones that were too sparkly, too princessy, or just plastered with a giant bow, would have run about $25 anyway.

Cute shoes! Hope she enjoys wearing them.
Your daughter is very cute too and she has really grown, she's not a little girl anymore like in your avatar and signature.

Heh, yeah. Thank you :flowers:, she really is maturing. I do miss the tiny little girl, but she's becoming such a nice, polite young lady.

Awwww. Sweet girl. They look great on her. My ten and a half year old has the exact same problem!! She wears a children's 13 and a 6x. Shopping for dresses is just painful. Good to know has some Coachie options at some point!!

Those are super cute!

Cute shoes!

These flats are adorable!

Thank you, ladies! :flowers:

Yay for grown up lady shoes that fit! They look great on her!! I have the nude( tan?)/black Callies and I love them.

The colors on these are officially "Vermillion and Ginger" ... as opposed to boring old "red and tan." ;)
And I wanted to add, I saved a copy of your avatar long ago, as such a funny little pic. I don't drink coffee but hubby does, and we both love that mug. ;)

Oh yes, I remember, I think we had both commented on that type of difficulty before. :smile1: Yes, it *is* painful. You can get away with larger sizes in tops and dresses, but pants/jeans ... good luck finding something that "looks" mature/teen enough, and doesn't fall right down. I also remember the first time daughter wanted boots with a bit of a heel. Not simply a wedge, but a stand-alone heel (only three-quarters to one inch high -- we weren't shooting for the stars). And not with a cowboy theme. ........ We covered the entire mall twice, finding only one pair that met those simple qualifications, yet was still small enough to fit her.

Cute shoes! Your daughter is growing into a lovely young woman. You must be proud.

Thank you. :flowers:
