I spent all weekend in the Dallas area hopelessly shopping for a purse to match my love for my 1.5 year old Vince Camuto (that was showing its age... sigh.) and finally told myself if it didn't happen in Dillard's, it wasn't happening.

Low and behold, Dillard's had my dream next bag. I had been eyeing dark brown printed bags all weekend at the Coach/MK outlets but wasn't in love with any of them until I saw this one.

And if it didn't have RASPBERRY colored straps, I probably would have passed on it too!:loveeyes::loveeyes: It's crazy how one change can make you obsessed with something. My eyes even welled up! I wasn't crying, just really excited, okay!?

Anyway! Now that I own my very first Michael Kors Jet Set Tote in dark brown with raspberry straps, HOW can I take care of it? Do I need to use some kind of protector? It will be my daily bag and I'm not going to baby it forever, but I'd like to keep the outside in decent shape. I had to move on from my Vince Camuto because the back side that was always against me was dyed blue from my jeans. :/

What type of material is the jet set tote? PVC? Fabric? Leather? I have had MK of all of those materials and would have to say that PVC is extremely low maintenance. It didn't need anything but the occasional wet wipe. Fabric I had to be a little more careful with (jean dye transfer) but regular cleanings with foam fabric cleaner keeps it looking new. I have only ever had their softer leather bags as well, and it softened after so much use, I had to be extra careful there with dye transfer, so occasionally cleaning it with leather cleaner was enough for me.

I use the Michael Kors Rain and Stain spray on all of my PVC bags. It seems to do the trick of keeping them nice, but honestly the PVC is so easy to care for, you really don't need to do much! I use a purse hanger for when I'm in restaurants if there isn't a chair available for my bag. :smile1: Enjoy your new bag! I've seen the new tote with raspberry handles and it's GORGEOUS!

I THINK it's PVC. Glad to hear it's low maintenance!!!

Seriously obsessed with my new bag haha! I will look up that spray and see if it's worth getting. Thank you! I usually put it on the back of my chair or in my lap.

Is the MK protection spray good for the handles? I'm looking for a good protection spray for the jet set logo tote handles. I have the jet set logo tote in dark brown with the beige/light colored straps and want to keep them nice.

MK stain & water repellent works on leather as well.
I'm going to spray down the handles to protect it. I had a purse, same design and everything and the handles wore out after a couple months of use. I didn't ever spray anything down on the handles though. I had called around and found a place to replace the straps but it's $50 + shipping and I could buy a whole new purse for $30 online. So I went and bought another one and this time want to be more careful wth it so thought I'd do some research first.

Can anyone help me with a similar problem? My new Black jeans have bleed on my cotton with a PVC coating bag. I have tried to scrub it off but it hasn't worked, can someone give me an idea of what I can do so that it isn't ruined when I try to remove the stain?

Is the stain on the cotton part of the bag or the PVC part of the bag?

Its hard to tell the PVC coating has a bubbly effect so could have gone through possible tiny holes.. If you go onto my profile I have started a conversation with an attached picture, Thankyou for replying so quickly!
I can't see the picture in your profile. It sounds like your bag is defective. I'd take it back and have the store take a look at it.
