Hi everyone I’m new here and have been doing some research. I’ve finally saved up for my first luxe bag and was wondering which would do better with durability?

The Empreinte is slightly more casual for me and the ysl seems dressier. I’ve wanted the large ysl but it no longer is available in the color I want.

For a first, which would you recommend? I have heard both have had their defects and am quite worried.

Another worry is also about snobby SAs as I would likely be purchasing in Manchester as they’re the closest stores to me, or online if I can’t.

The Pochette Metis in empreinte noir would be a good choice. Those who own it in the LV Pochette Metis clubhouse thread seem very happy. There seems to be more problems with the monogram version. In noir it will be durable, versatile and stylish.

LV generally seems to be of a higher quality. Post sale service is also better in my experience and LV tends to hold it’s value better too.
I had the YSL and had trouble with the leather peeling among other things. Hopefully I was just unlucky but it was enough to make me seriously consider whether I’d buy a YSL again
