Your thoughts on a Kelly in size 25 or 28, gold or palladium hardware and colour black or gold. I can not decide!

I have a small bag collection - Speedy b 25 Mono, Alma bb Damier Ebene and Chanel 19 in dark beige.

I like to mix metals too, I love neutral colours and I wear mostly black outfits, all of your opinions would be greatly appreciated! xxx

I absolutely love my gold Kelly 25 retourne in togo leather with gold hardware. It's an almost perfect bag but I'm searching for a crossbody strap to make it even more wearable.
You can actually order one. If you want more comfort, you can get a wider canvas strap.

I think the size depends on what you need the Kelly for.

I would like something that can be used day to evening, I'm thinking the size 28 would be best for my lifestyle.

Retourné vs. sellier is a pretty big decision here, and most folks have a good idea of which they prefer, so I'd start there.

IMO 28 is more useful than 25 (28 holds most of what you need for a day out, where 25 can't really fit, say, a water bottle or mini umbrella) but 25 goes day to dinner better (neither is a strict evening bag, but old school evening rules don't apply to most lifestyles).
Depends on your frame, too, what kind of shoes you usually wear, and whether you dress in a structured or soft way. For instance, I can't *really* carry off 28 sellier unless I am wearing heels, and it works best if I'm wearing something a bit "hard". (Remember, sellier looks bigger than retourné even though it fits less!)

I agree that a Gold retourné 28 in whichever hardware you prefer is an incredibly useful bag. I've had mine forever and it's still one of the bags I reach for most often.

That is great advice, thank you! I think I'm leaning toward sellier, I'm 5 ft 4 and I have quite a hard edgy style, I like oversized coats, sweaters and I wear leather jackets in the winter months so I think it would suit my style.

I would love a Birkin 25, but I am put off the narrow handle I dont think I could pull that off with chunky knitwear!

You can't go wrong with black either....I usually suggest Gold for people who wear navy, grey, camel, etc. as much as they wear black, and Noir for folks who wear almost nothing but black. BUT, Noir goes with everything except super floaty chiffon type looks. A black sellier Kelly is a forever classic that is never wrong.

I don't like the retourne style on kelly, but I know togo sellier is very hard to come by otherwise that'd be my choice. I'd say K25 sellier in chai or gold would be divine, with chai being a softer neutral but i also love the contrast stitching in gold, both ghw or phw would look nice against those colors. Go for ghw if you prefer your bag to be more dressy & elegant, phw is more casual & youthful.

Sellier K28 in Noir. Any color hw will work unless you have a preference. I have a Black Box Sellier K32 and I've always wished it was a 28. But, that's because I've always preferred smaller bags. (Honestly, if I were you, I'd wait until people are clamoring for large bags again so it will be easier for you to get a smaller Kelly.)

I was always a phw girl and wanted noir with a size 32. This year i got a noir epsom sellier 28 kelly with ghw and love it. My sa told me to not try for a 32 since our store doesn’t order large sizes.

I think if I got a retourne I would have preferred phw.
