First Goyard, Cap-Vert or Petit Flot?

This would be my first designer bag, I'm debating between the petit flot and the cap vert in navy or black (would love thoughts on those colors as well). I'm hoping to use this for travel (carrying my wallet, passport, portable charger), and then also be fashionable for when I'm out and about.

Cap Vert Pros:
More casual/simple, so easier to pair?
Outer pocket is very convenient
Can be worn crossbody or shoulder
Zipper for security

Cap Vert Cons:
Worried it's too simplistic of a design for the price
Capacity is smaller compared to the petit flot

Petit Flot Pros:
More of a unique/feminine design
Larger capacity
Strap can be adjusted longer/shorter compared to the Cap Vert

Petit Flot Cons:
I hear the drawstring closure is stiff/hard to manage
A bit bulky to wear crossbody, I wouldn't wear it crossbody

Cap vert all the way if you want the most versatile travel bag. I don’t have one specifically but a small, zipped, rectangular crossbody is my traveling constant. It’s secure in most environments (consider you can wear it stealthily under a coat in the winter too), compact for packing into another bag if needed, and appropriate/functional for work or social traveling.

I vote for the petit Flot in black
I think it’s more stylish and will be roomier. Since you’re not looking for a basic crossbody bag I think you might enjoy it more
I think the cap vert is nice too but I find it to be more fun in the specialty colors

I have both bags and prefer the cap vert for daily use. It sits well against the body and is more secure with the zipper.

I’d say Cap Vert. I don’t own one, but I have been wanting one for so long! The bag looks very versatile. It’s definitely something I’d wear on a weekend out with my toddler at the playground. Because of the pandemic, we haven’t been travelling and I don’t have a Goyard boutique near me.

I want a petit flot so bad. In red. However, I think if you‘re looking for a travel purse, something with a zip and worn crossbody is important. I have the cap vert in navy. It’s not exciting but it is a nice low key bag.

I have a Cap vert in Tan and I love it! It is such a functional bag and at 5'1, the strap drop is perfect for me. That said, the Petit Flot in Navy or Burgundy is on my wish list. You can't go wrong with either!

thanks for the feedback everyone, i ended up getting the petit flot in black/tan because the design just felt more special to me! i’ll probably still end up with the cap vert later though haha

This makes me happy. My heart was Team Petit Flot but I was trying to be practical in my response.
