Hey everyone,

I just purchased my first diamond pendant and will be picking it up next week. I'm really excited but I wanted to know if this was a good purchase for the price I paid. Please look at the GIA report and let me know. I want it to sparkle like crazy!

I paid $1850 in total for the 0.52 carat round diamond pendant with 18k white gold chain and 4 prong setting. Thank you very much!

There are better--the crown angle and depth are a little outside of range--but if you selected this with your two eyes and you are happy with it, then that's what matters. You're excited and that's good!

Hey Ame,

Thanks for your reply. How will the crown angle and depth being outside of range affect the diamond?

The Depth will affect the diameter/face up size most of all, the stone is losing spread bec it's "too tall" vs as wide as it could be(not by a lot) and that will have an impact on overall light return bec it plays into how the pa and ca line up. The crown angle will affect the light return. Since that ca doesn't work with that pa--they don't line up the way the proper angles would. With that pa you would want a 34.5 ideally. It won't be as bright and as fiery as it should be and There will be a bit of leakage. If you held it beside a stone that was less deep and had a 34.5 ca you'd see the difference (perhaps--your eyes might not prefer the ideal on paper stone.)

Thank you for your knowledge!

Im putting my 2cnts in because Ive seen stones cut no where as well. You have good stats, cut well, clean, low fluorescence, in gen a very nice stone just over the .50ct mark. Stones as this are usually good for upgrade from any jeweler because they are saleable-good choice-stevie...:w00t::cool:
