First chanel bag Sweetheart or mini rectangular with handle? Please help!

Hi thank you in advance for your input! I do own a caviar woc but looking to have my first bag.. I initially was set on a caviar mini rectangular but found out Chanel no long produces mini caviars… the sweetheart caviar size small seemed to fit the bill. I love the adjustable chain, and the chain being different from the leather chain on the woc. I was not interested in lamb skin so I turned down the rectangular with handle. I do love the handle and classic look but the more I look at it the more I am actually starting to think it would be nice to have a lamb skin being I have a caviar woc. I do have three small children so I’m also wondering if id had to baby the lamb skin? Please help me pick!

Personally I love the caviar on the sweetheart and the functionality of the chain.

I also had this dilemma and picked up the sweetheart vanity this season. Reason is I was looking for a casual and fuss free everyday bag rather than something I would worry about and only save for special occasions (which are few and far between!). The antique gold chain with no leather is perfect for the days I may get caught in the rain or snow! The adjustable chain infinite chain (compared to the dangling pearl crush) is also more aesthically pleasing. I prefer my bags sitting above my hip so the adjustable chain is great as in the winter seasons the chain can be adjusted to fit over a heavy parka.

I am probably in the minority but I dislike the way the mini looks when chain is doubled up due to the way the grommets are! I also have a woc and love the way the chain is on the inside. The mini top handle looks gorgeous but honestly too delicate for my casual lifestyle where weekends consist of kids play centers and grocery stores!

So many valid points here! Do you own any Chanel lambskin purses and would you say they are much more delicate? I keep reading both.. that they’re more durable than people think and also that they’re delicate so I’m confused! The sweetheart vanity was so cute!

I gotta choose the mini rectangle! It looks gorgeous and I absolutely love the lux look of lamb skin...with that said I baby my lamb skin bag lol it's not as practical as caviar which I actually have less worry about wear and tear...but that's just me...I think you have to ask yourself if you're the type to baby your bags and if so will it deter you from choosing the lamb skin when you go out

All my Chanel bags are black caviar so I definitely play on the safe side! I try to purchase pieces that I can use long term and know will stand the test of time.

I do have smooth leather bags from other brands that I have scratched up.. I am a clutz and somehow manage to scrape my bags, nails, jewellery and watches on walls..tables..anything lol 😅 even had my daughter put a nail mark across a brand new lambskin bag..that one hurt!

Yes I think there’s always a misconception that lambskin is super delicate, I find Chanel lambskin pretty durable. My first Chanel wallet I got was lambskin and it help up pretty well after 18 years lol. My lambkin red WOC that’s over 15 years also looks great and I’ve used it soooo many times have spilled drinks (in my early 20s lol) I recently got a classic mini in lambskin have not wore it yet BUT Omg I accidentally left the chain on the front and it dented one of the quilts! I did not freak out since I read here that it goes back to normal after couple of day and it did!!! It’s perfect like it never happened lol. Good luck on deciding! I’m sure you won’t regret either way!

I don’t baby my bags so this was the biggest concern for me also and I never thought I’d consider a lambskin bag, it wasn’t even on my radar… somehow it’s called my name!
