Hello! I bought my first Cartier watch—small Tank Francaise with diamond bezel. I have been lusting after this watch for a while and got it for a decent price on Fashionphile. Some questions:
1) I have really small wrists and will go to a dealer to get links removed. Is it at all possible that they can only remove so many links and the watch may just fit a little loose on me?
2) I have bought many designer bags on Fashionphile, but have zero experience with buying jewelry or watches. Any idea if their authentication process is thorough? For example, I find this model is sold often with after market diamonds. This listing didn’t say that but I hope they would be able to identify if these are factory diamonds vs after market.
3) I plan to wear this watch every day. I don’t wear bracelets at all, but I do own gold earrings and necklaces and and some of my bags have gold hardware. Is the mixing of metals weird at all to you in your opinion?
Thank you for giving me your thoughts/opinions!

#1 will just purely depend on the size of your wrist and your specifications which you need to explain clearly to whoever is resizing the band.
#2 May I know if your watch came with an identification card? For most Swiss-made luxury watches, each watch has a specific ID number that is usually on the card. Then you can use it to verify authenticity.
For example, for IWC watches, in order to buy watch straps online, they will not allow you to checkout until you put in that ID number for your watch. So, of course, if the ID number is fake, it’s not going to go through.
I don’t have a Cartier watch (so I don’t know if they have a similar system but that’s just to give you an idea.)
#3 Not at all! It’s just a matter of preference and personal style!

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for the reply! The watch came with a box but no papers. Regarding the ID, there is a serial number engraved on the back of the watch—is that it?

For Cartier, yes I believe so.
However, I am no watch expert in general.
It’s best for you to do you research or, to give you peace of mind, go to a professional authenticator .

I have not shopped at fashionpile but would ask for an authenticity card as it always comes with Cartier purchase. I looked on Cartier website and they do sell this model. I would ask fashionpile for the authenticity card if in doubt I would return it. Hope that helps.

I think you can look up the serial number on the Cartier website. Try it here: https://cartiercare.cartier.ae/en/r...3.1588185193.1645552961-1752922796.1640616510

As for the links, if you have a small screwdriver you can do that really easily yourself as there are screws on the sides. You can see which ones can be removed for sizing. My left wrist is 13.5" and my TF watch has a few more links that could be taken out so I'm sure it can be made quite small.

But, I totally understand if you want to bring it in to have it done and checked out. Enjoy!
