I am deciding on a birthday present and am debating between the wedding love ring and the love pendant. I have tried the love ring and think it looks great stacked with my other pieces but am scared of the scratches. I am also open to other pieces at Cartier or from a different designer. I would ideally like to spend under 2k. My style leans more feminine. Any advice would be great!

I don’t really find the love ring that comfortable and I don’t think it’s worth the price point to be honest. Have you thought about the D’amour collection? The bracelet and necklaces are timeless and I’ve loved wearing mine for many years! The small JUC is more expensive but it’s another amazing piece. Also you can find vintage Cartier pieces from Japanese boutiques on eBay if you’re looking for something unique! Good luck and let us know what you decide 💕

If you will be bothered by scratches I’d stay away from the love ring. I got one for Christmas and it scratches very easily, even more so than my love bracelets that I’ve had for much longer.

Thanks for the response! I have the Tiffany DBTY necklace, which is pretty similar to the Cartier D’amor collection. I was thinking about the thin juste en clou as well, but wasn’t sure how durable it was. Do you think it gets bent out of place easily?

I definitely get stressed out by scratches so I’m worried about the love ring. I typically take my jewelry off when I get home and try to be as gentle as possible, do you think the scratching is inevitable or could I try and avoid it?

My first Cartier purchase was the love wedding band in white gold, the first scratch always hurts but after awhile they sort of all blend in together. The scratching is inevitable with any gold piece especially worn as a ring or bracelet. But I’ve loved mine so much I got it in yellow gold as well to stack lol

A little above 2k, but I would look at the clash ring. IMO it's one of the more unique Cartier pieces and is the most comfortable ring they sell. People frequently ask where it's from. It's enough of a statement on it's own or in a stack of other rings (IDK I wear a lot of rings daily lol). This is the small with diamonds, but the one without is just as pretty.

Still think it’s pretty inevitable. Plus, it wouldn’t be very enjoyable to constantly worry about how you move your hands.

Hi! Since you're open to other brands, here are a few ideas:

Van Cleef & Arpels
- Sweet Alhambra MOP pendant – I find the mother-of-pearl really flattering; it lightens up the face and stands out beautifully on any skin tone
- Sweet Alhambra bracelet (heart or classic clover)
- Sweet Alhambra butterfly pendant
- Sweet Alhambra heart pendant

Cartier
- Trinity ring
- Trinity cord bracelet
- Diamants Légers bracelet (XS or S)
- Diamants Légers necklace (XS or S)
- Amulette de Cartier (I'm seeing a bracelet available in EU, not sure about US)

Tiffany & Co.
- Elsa Peretti Diamonds by the Yard necklace
- Tiffany T Smile mini pendant

Chaumet
- Jeux de Liens Harmony mini pendant

Boucheron
- Serpent Bohème XS pendant - I tried this one in diamond pave, which is slightly over your budget, and loved it! It's super sparkly, elegant and unusual, I haven't seen it on anyone in real life. The options with gemstones are within your budget and stunning too!

My first piece was a white gold love ring (thicker band) and I still love it 5 years later. It is definitely scratched up, but it still shines and I think the scratches add to its charm. I don't regret it at all.
