Hi there! Thank you for stopping by ☺️

After getting my VCA YG Vintage Alhambra Onyx pendant, I have fallen into the throes of jewelry and would love to hear your wise advice on what I should get for my first (and only!) bracelet to pair it with. I hope to wear this as a 24/7 piece, but open to taking it off when showering if needed. I will probably be heading to medical school so hopefully not too flashy but substantial enough to wear on its own. I also have a very small wrist (13.5 cm), if that makes a difference.

I am open to looking at both new and pre-loved - probably anything under $4500 retail. I am open to not just VCA but also other brands. Preferably yellow gold but open to RG/WG if mixed with other stones (such as the carnelian).

Here are a few that I have looked into:

- VCA Sweet Alhambra MOP Bracelet

- Cartier Interlocking (Baby) Love bracelet

- VCA Lucky Spring Ladybug Bracelet

Please feel free to input any other suggestions. Thank you in advance for your help!

Based on your choices, I assume you want a bracelet with single motif and/or on the daintier side? If so, I'd suggest the sweet carnelian or sweet pave instead, both are carefree and you keep it on all the time. MOP can't get wet and I suspect it may become troublesome when you're doing clinical practice.

If you don't mind spending a little bit more, I highly recommend the sweet 6 motif in rose gold. It's dainty & carefree, so you can leave it on all the time and even shower with it on. Since you already plan on spending nearly $2k on a single motif, might as well spend a bit more and get 6 motifs for a better deal and it's the same price as the WG sweet pave, retail at $3,300 USD plus tax :yes:I personally own the sweet 6 motif and wear it very often since it feels really light yet still look quite substantial but proportionate on my 13 cm wrist. The only problem is that rarely it's readily available at the boutique or even on the website, so it actually cost more in the pre-loved market than getting it brand new from the boutique because some people don't want to put up with the wait. You may have to place full deposit in advance and wait several weeks to months for it to arrive so you get to try it on to see if you like it. If you don't like it, they'll refund you in full so that shouldn't be a problem. I've gotten mine in 8 weeks after I ordered it, then it took another 2 weeks for it get resized since the original length is 17.5 cm/6.89 in which is a way too big for my wrist. Have fun shopping and let us know what you decided to get!

Thank you so much for your reply and suggestions! 😍

You made such great points - I'll definitely look more into the carnelian, WG sweet pave, and 6-motif. Sorry I should have added this in my original post - I usually wear yellow gold so was trying to look for something along those lines - but would definitely consider branching out! 🥰

I think if you're looking at the sweet size the YG options are very limited, especially for bracelets. I do think the sweet carnelian has more presence than MOP, the pop of red looks really cute on as a standalone piece or layer with other bracelets. Since the chain is so dainty it'll blend well when mix with your YG pieces. I don't own many YG pieces but this is what the RG 6 motif look next to my YG pearl necklace. You can barely tell the difference in the metal colors.

If you're open to the 5 motif bracelet in VA size, I like the suggestion of getting the matching 5 motif in onyx to wear as a set, or YG hammered for its carefree nature & versatility but it has quite a long wait list. Both are priced within your budget

Hello. I finished medical school and would clearly advise, in terms of a 24/7 bracelet carefree, that you get a golden bracelet without stones. With all the antiseptic gel and soaps it would damage them. If RG is ok I would try to get the 6 motif sweet Alhambra bracelet. If you want YG then order the yellow gold hammered piece that is a so beautiful (maybe not discreet though) piece 🥰. Otherwise the mini frivole (paved or not ) ?

I am also a doctor and I agree with the recommendation for the sweet RG 6 motif over any of the previous options. The other sweets will get damaged and the pave will flip, hit things, and may lose a diamond which can be costly to fix and push you over your budget. That said, I never wear rings or bracelets at work due to sterility in procedures and have had many colleagues lose them in scrubs. Depending upon your rotation in med school, this would be the safest option for your present budget to wear 24/7.
I would strongly recommend earrings either in hammered gold or onyx over a bracelet since that won't interfere with your future work and would also match your pendant. I love love love earrings since that is the only jewelry that I can wear at work.
