First Birkin help please

I have been into Chanel for the last few years but have a chance to get a Birkin = 40c in brown or a 30c gold I am 5'6 I want to make the right choice so I need your advice

I have both 30cm and 40 cm....I prefer the 40cm, I can get more in it and I travel with the 40cm always. The 30cm I use for luncheons or when I don't need to carry a ton of stuff. But really neither bag is wrong. See which speaks to you. I have both brown and gold. The gold I consider a neutral.

I think 30cm would look a bit small on you. It'd look like you're carrying a baby birkin. 35cm or 40cm would be better, IMHO.

40cm is very rare... I hardly ever see them being mentioned here - then again - maybe because its a bit big. I would jump at it if you ever see a 40cm!

I also agree with Mrs S. - but you should try the two larger sizes for yourself.

Personally, I am all about 40CM - it is a GREAT size!!

The 40cm are not that rare, I ordered my second last year in Gris. The New York store has a larger collection of them then some smaller Hermes stores.

is there a huge difference between the 35 & 40 ? I wanted a 35 but it is not available

Do take into consideration the weight difference. It is better to try both on. Or do a cardboard mockup if you must.

I have several 40s. I am 5'6 and i find it quite comfortable. I love it actually.
