First and last time ordering from Neiman Marcus

I ordered an all black small Lou puffer over the holidays and my order was delayed for several weeks. Finally the bag shipped out, I open the package, there's no original box, and immediately see the bag is all scratched and scuffed up.
The purse has the sharp paper Neiman Marcus tag dangling on one side where, unsurprisingly, most of the scratches are. I'm guessing it got thrown around during shipping. Never again.
Is ordering directly from YSL any better? I wouldn't want to rebuy the bag just for the same thing to happen, and I don't have a SL boutique nearby.

Oh I'm so sorry!! Ordering from ysl has been largely successful for me. The bags come with either a box or structured shopping bag and are packaged well. I have had to return a bag due to manufacturing flaws but never had issues with damages from shipping. Returning is also a very easy process and shipping is lighting fast (well, I'm on the east coast in the US and that's where their warehouse is haha).

NM and other department stores usually never ship with the box so I tend to not buy from them.

I may try it from YSL directly then, if NM don't have an exchange in store.
They should have at least covered the sharp tag in something so it wouldn't scratch up the soft leather.

Yikes. I've ordered two YSLs from Neimans and both were packaged wonderfully with the box and all tags in the pocket of the bag (not hanging from and dangling from the bag). All hardware and leather was wrapped in tissue, also.

Yours must have been a return! The scratches are pretty obvious.
