Hey all, I am new to this section of the forum. I normally hang around the Balenciaga and LV forum as those are my favorite handbag designers. Anyhoo, I just took advantage of Neiman Marcus' Gift Card event to order a Rockie bag in Flame :yahoo: I  this color! I also ordered a pair of Tori Burch sandals :graucho:

I have been wanting to order this bag but have been holding out until NM had another gift card event. I have been really wanting an orange bag for summer, and when I ran across the Rockie in flame a few weeks back, I knew this was the orange bag I wanted. I have been wanting a Rockie for a while but I kept putting off purchasing one because I never saw it in a color I just loved. I then saw the flame and was wowed by the vividness of the orange color. Since I spent just over $1000 for the purse and shoes, I should receive a $250 NM Gift Card which I plan to use on either another Balenciaga Toolkit bag (if they get the Rouge Cardinal back in stock) or a Chloe Small Crossbody bag in Cobalt. Saks is also having a gift card event but they did not carry the bag in any colors that I was interested in, and the NM gift card event offered larger gift cards for the same amount spent. So no brainer to go through NM.

I will post some pics of the bag when I receive it!

My bag and shoes arrived :yahoo: What a wonderful b-day present :D I was initially worried as the Fed Ex box had a huge gouge in the side that really looked like someone had tried to open the end of the box and sneak a look into the package to see what was in it. I really wish Neiman Marcus would not put their name on the boxes they are sending through the mail. There are so many unscrupulous people now who work for the postal service/Fed Ex/UPS/etc that I would not be surprised if their less then honest employees try to peek if there is anything they can make a quick buck off of...especially when they see the name of a high end store like Neiman Marcus on the outside. I think the fact that everything was wrapped up so tightly in the package that they couldn't see what was in the box without fully opening it. The last package I received from Neiman Marcus only had an NM on the address label instead of the full name. That package arrived perfectly intact. No one looking at that address label would have known what the NM stood for. I also heard the guy who was delivering the package using a ton of foul language while on his cell phone before he ever got to my door. He was talking LOUD. And he looked kinda unkempt too...needed a bath, a shave, to comb his hair. It makes you wonder what kind of people these delivery services are hiring to deal with our sometimes expensive goods. Luckily, the bag and shoes escape unscathed :okay:

Anyhoo, the bag is a lovely vivid orange...a perfect color for summer. It's a pretty heavy bag for the size which I am assuming is due to all the hardware. I quickly tried it out with the top handles and then with the crossbody strap. I think I prefer the crossbody option so that is probably how I will tend to carry the bag.

The bag and shoes arrived right before I had to leave to attend my birthday dinner so I didn't get a chance to photograph the bag. And I am house and pet-sitting for a friend tonight so won't have a chance to get to this until tomorrow at the earliest.

I finally got some pics of the bag. Presenting my brand-spanking new Alexander Wang Rockie bag in Flame :woohoo:
