I'm terribly sorry to hear that. But no, I never thought to do so and 99% of my jewelry is from H. I hope your bracelet fell off somewhere at home and pops up when you least expect it. (This happened with one of my H toggle closure necklaces which is why I will never buy another piece without the proper clasp!)

I get all my jewelry (I have no Hermes except for a couple of enamel bracelets) over $1000 insured through my homeowner's policy, which reminds me I recently got a nice, not giant but sparkly, tennis bracelet that I need to add to my policy. Having my more expensive pieces insured gives me great piece of mind.

And maybe your bracelet will turn up still--here's to hope!

Omg yes! My bracelet was the Farandole with the toggle closure! I hate to say it but I don't think I’ll be purchasing anything with that type of closure again. Clasp all the way, lol. Thank you for your input.

Thank you! I have an insurance policy for rental like if the bracelet was stolen from my apartment. But not for lost. I’m gonna follow your advice and insure my jewelry through the same company as my engagement ring. It was over $2k, so it’s a hard lesson to learn for me :(

Hi everyone! For those of you who buy fine jewelry at Hermes in USA, do you guys get insurance for your pieces? I just lost my rose gold bracelet. It came off of my wrist and I had no idea until I got home. Feeling sad and regretting not getting insurance on it since I recently bought it
Does your CC offer purchase protection?

I do the same; it’s not that expensive to add a piece to your policy and the peace of mind is worth it for me. I recommend everyone to insure any pieces that you can’t easily afford to replace.

Just filed my claim. If they approve, I can get at least $500 back to cover the lost. Better than nothing. Thank you so much for bringing this up!
I'm so glad to hear this! Many CCs offer up to $10K coverage - I would chat with your CC company and see if they can upgrade you. If you make a little polite noise about how competitive cards have better purchase protection, maaaaaybe you can get them to cover this
But $500 is way better than nothing!!

Could you provide a reason for this?
I’m not @Cestlachance , but when we were deciding whether to go for a rider on Chubb or a separate jewelry policy, there are some instances when separate is better, such as if you are not sure whether something has been lost or stolen (mysterious disappearance). There are also other reasons (including but not limited to changes in appraisal etc. Here is an article that mentions Jewelers Mutual* and some issues.

My independent jeweler; the regional manager of our favorite luxury watch company; and @docride all recommended Jewelers Mutual, and we’ve found them easy to use

ETA: I also find Chubb a bit of a pain to deal with, but perhaps that’s limited to our experience (primary residence gut renovation and thinking about a second apt gut, and Chubb makes an issue out of a lot of stuff). But, that may also bc bc of our location, state issues etc
